Funoas was born in 2016 and is the first eco-conscious, swimwear brand that heralded from the Maldives.

Dhivehi artist and textile designer, Sumii Haleem started scuba diving in 2014 and was in awe of the unmatched beauty and vulnerability of the coral reefs that make up her island home.

In a bid to  spur discourse on the fragility of her island nation in light of climate change, she started designing sustainably and ethically sourced swimwear with vibrant patterns found in the Maldives’ coral reefs and its rich, indigenous heritage.
